Black Friday on eMAG is a single day that, for many sellers, makes the result of an entire quarter. The catch is that your place in the campaign is not decided in November but in August and September – because the toughest criteria are counted from the day the product landed on the platform and from the price you hold in October. eMAG has already published the terms for Black Friday 2026: the qualification criteria, a commission discount of up to 60% and the rules for the WOW and „Lowest price of the year” badges. Below we break them down into concrete decisions and dates.

When Black Friday 2026 falls on eMAG

The date has not been confirmed yet. In recent years eMAG announced it at Seller’s Day, and only that announcement was binding. From our experience with previous editions, two dates are the most likely: 6 or 13 November 2026 – eMAG consistently picks a Friday in the first half of November rather than the American date after Thanksgiving.

For your preparations this uncertainty has one practical consequence: plan for the earlier scenario. Every criterion counted „X days before the campaign” then falls a week earlier. If you make it for 6 November, you will also make it for 13. The reverse does not work – assume the later date and a one-week slip cuts you out of the 60-day listing condition, which cannot be made up.

The sheer scale of the event explains why it is worth preparing well in advance: on Black Friday 2025 eMAG recorded sales of 986 million RON from 702 thousand customers in a single day. This is not a campaign you enter with a week’s notice if you want to come out of it with a profit. If you are only just setting up your sales on this market, it is worth starting with the basics of selling on eMAG and treating Black Friday as a target point in the calendar.

Criteria for entering the campaign

The entry thresholds are low – and that is the most common misunderstanding in conversations about Black Friday. To enter an offer into the campaign you do not have to cut your price by 25%. Deep discounts are the condition for the bonuses (the commission discount and the badges), not for taking part at all. Here are the terms eMAG has given for Black Friday 2026.

Criterion Requirement for Black Friday 2026
Discount At least 5% against CMMP 30 and, at the same time, at least 5 RON in cash terms
Discount below 5% Accepted only as an exception – when the cash discount exceeds 50 RON
Category exceptions Some categories in the Auto, Electro-IT, Fashion and Home & Garden divisions have their own, higher minimum discount thresholds, depending on product performance (eMAG publishes the list of exceptions)
Handling Time 6 days maximum – otherwise the offer does not enter the campaign
Stock Declared in the campaign file. There is no minimum, but the number of units you declare has to be physically available on the day of the campaign
Offer activity The offer must be active at least once in the 30 days before the campaign; newly listed – at least 7 days of activity
Entry limit Up to 20,000 PNK per category

Two conditions in this table are worth checking right now, because fixing them takes more than a day. The first is Handling Time: if your offers say 7, 10 or 14 days because that is how long it really takes you to source the goods, then without a change on the logistics side you simply will not enter the campaign. The second is stock availability – the number in the campaign file is a commitment, not a forecast. We described the routine of keeping prices and stock levels current in the guide on updating offers on eMAG step by step.

CMMP 30 – what the discount is really measured from

CMMP 30 (from the Romanian cel mai mic preț, the lowest price) is the lowest price of your product over the last 30 days. Every discount threshold in this campaign – both the entry ones and the ones rewarded with a commission discount – is measured against CMMP 30, not against your regular list price.

This is the source of the trap that costs sellers their badges and commission discounts every year: every promotion inside the 30-day window before the campaign lowers the base. If you run a -20% clearance in October, your reference point on Black Friday is no longer the catalogue price but that reduced one. To deliver the required 15%, 20% or 25% discount you have to go lower still – often below the point where it still pays.

The practical conclusion is simple and inconvenient: keep your prices stable from the beginning of October. Move clearances, vouchers and „brand week” campaigns to September or push them to December. If this is the year you are still learning how promotions work on the platform, have a look at our piece on promotional and voucher campaigns on eMAG – the same rules govern how a discount is counted day to day, not only in November.

The WOW badge criteria add CMMP 60, the lowest price over 60 days. In practice that means price discipline should start at the beginning of September, not in the middle of October.

The commission discount of up to 60% – how it adds up

For taking part in Black Friday 2026, eMAG offers a commission discount of up to 60% on sales made during the campaign. That figure is the sum of two independent components which can be combined.

Component 1: up to 40% for discount and performance

The first discount goes to products with Standard, Hot or Super Hot performance, and its size depends on the division and on how deep you cut the price against CMMP 30.

Category group Min. discount vs CMMP 30 Commission discount
Electro-IT; Auto, Sport & Travel; Media & Toys; Consumables 10% 30%
Electro-IT; Auto, Sport & Travel; Media & Toys; Consumables 20% 40%
Fashion; Home & Garden 15% 30%
Fashion; Home & Garden 25% 40%
Accessories (across all categories) 25% 30%

It is worth seeing where the profitable threshold sits in this table. In Electro-IT the difference between a 30% and a 40% commission discount means another 10 percentage points off your price – and that is a real calculation to run on a specific product, not a decision along the lines of „let’s take the higher threshold, it sounds better”.

Component 2: 20% for meeting the WOW criteria

The second discount, 20%, goes to every product that meets the WOW badge criteria – regardless of its performance. This matters: even an offer with Super Cold performance, which does not qualify for the first discount, can take the second one.

Both components add up, so 30-40% plus 20% gives a maximum commission discount of 60%.

There is one more element that is easy to forget: performance is taken from the best result in the 30 days before the campaign and depends directly on visits and orders. That means October is the last window in which you can move a product from Cold to Standard, or from Standard to Hot. You do it with traffic and conversion: a well-built product page and visibility. If you are not running ads yet, start with your first eMAG Ads campaign, and if you want to do it early and against a specific goal, we will support you as part of running eMAG Ads campaigns.

The WOW badge – conditions and what it gives you

The WOW badge is reserved for offers that stand out across the whole platform. On top of extra visibility in listings, it carries the 20% commission discount mentioned above. eMAG will announce the list of categories covered by the badge separately. The conditions vary by product performance.

WOW condition Super Cold Cold Standard Hot Super Hot
Min. discount vs CMMP 30 25% 20% 15% 15% 15%
Min. cash discount (when the percentage threshold is not met) not applicable not applicable not applicable 100 RON 100 RON
Price Index max. 95% max. 95% max. 95% max. 95% max. 95%
Min. discount vs CMMP 60 (when the product has no Price Index) 15% 10% 5% 5% 5%
Min. stock – products up to 5,000 RON 100 units 100 units 100 units 100 units 100 units
Min. stock – products above 5,000 RON 20 units 20 units 20 units 20 units 20 units

A few things follow from this table that change how you plan the campaign:

  • Stock is the real threshold, not the discount – 100 units of a single product sitting in the warehouse for one day is a purchasing decision made in September. That is why WOW is planned for 1-3 selected products, not for the whole catalogue.
  • Weak performance costs you in discount – a Super Cold product needs a 25% discount where a Hot one gets away with 15%. Working on traffic and conversion in October therefore has a very measurable price.
  • Price Index is a hard requirement – max. 95% at every performance level. You can check the current value for your offers in Seller Account; it is worth doing before you calculate the discount, because without meeting the index the rest of the conditions do not matter.
  • No Price Index does not close the door – the alternative is then the discount against CMMP 60, and from Standard upwards 5% is enough.

The „Lowest price of the year” badge

This is the badge eMAG customers look for most deliberately, because it means exactly what it says: the lowest price of the product in the whole of 2026. There are three conditions.

  • The product has to be in the Black Friday campaign and listed on eMAG at least 60 days before it – with a 6 November date that means listing by 7 September at the latest, and with 13 November – by 14 September.
  • The promotional price at PNK level has to be lower than the lowest value of 2026 – counted from 1 January 2026. Note: for a product sold by several sellers, all the prices at which the product was sold on eMAG in that period are taken into account, not only yours.
  • The badge goes exclusively to the main offer of a given product.

That second condition is the hardest in practice and the most often underestimated. On a shared PNK you have to beat the lowest price of the whole year set by any seller – including one from a competitor’s one-day clearance back in March. Check the price history now, because in November all you will have left is a yes/no decision.

The deadline consequence is even simpler: if you plan to introduce new products and want to compete for this badge with them, you have to list them by the first half of September. After that the door closes, even if you make the 7-day activity condition needed for the campaign itself. If your catalogue needs filling out, we support building the catalogue and adding products on eMAG – at this point in the year that is work with a hard deadline.

Timeline: August, September, October

Below are the same conditions translated into dates, under two scenarios for the campaign date. The column worth treating as binding is the earlier one.

Milestone If Black Friday = 6 November If Black Friday = 13 November
New products listed on eMAG (condition for the „Lowest price of the year” badge) by 7 September by 14 September
End of your own promotions – price discipline for CMMP 60 begins beginning of September beginning of September
Start of the window that counts for CMMP 30, performance and offer activity 7 October 14 October
Last moment to list a new offer (min. 7 days of activity) 30 October 6 November
Stock declared in the file physically in the warehouse 6 November 13 November

eMAG has not given the deadlines for the entry itself, meaning the submission of the campaign file – they will appear in Seller Account and in the communication after Seller’s Day. That is the only date in this plan you have to wait for. All the others you can put in your calendar today.

August: decisions and housekeeping

Pick the products you genuinely want to compete with – separately for the campaign, separately for WOW (stock decides here), separately for „Lowest price of the year” (price history decides here). Check Handling Time across all your offers and the Price Index for your WOW candidates. Check whether you are missing products you would like to list before the September deadline.

September: listing and locking prices

List everything that has to make the 60-day condition. Wind down your own promotions so you do not spoil CMMP 60 and CMMP 30. Order stock for WOW – 100 units for a single day is a decision with a production or delivery lead time. After Seller’s Day, confirm the date and adjust the calendar.

October: performance and operational preparation

This is the window that counts for visits and orders, so work on traffic and conversion: product pages, photography, ads. Keep prices from moving downwards. Prepare the campaign file and plan operations for the day itself: packing, courier collections, handling customer questions.

Will the discount pay for itself – do the maths before you enter

The commission discount sounds like compensation for the price cut, but it is not – and that is the most important number to understand before you enter an offer. Let us follow it through on an example from Fashion, with round figures purely to illustrate the mechanics.

  • Regular price, equal to CMMP 30: 200 RON gross, that is 165.29 RON net (VAT 21%)
  • A 25% discount, the threshold for the higher commission discount: campaign price 150 RON gross, that is 123.97 RON net – you give up 41.32 RON of net revenue per unit
  • Category commission, let us assume 20%: eMAG charges it on the net amount, so on 123.97 RON that is 24.79 RON
  • A 40% commission discount: the commission drops to 14.88 RON, so you recover 9.92 RON
  • With the WOW badge the discount rises to 60%: the commission is 9.92 RON, you recover 14.88 RON

The balance per unit: you give up 41.32 RON of net revenue and recover 9.92 RON, or 14.88 RON in the best case. The commission discount therefore covers between a quarter and a third of the price cut. Black Friday is not free – it pays off through the volume of a single day, through selling stock you had to move anyway, and through the position the product carries into the following weeks. It does not pay off through the saving on commission alone.

Before you put prices into the campaign file, work them out on your own numbers: the eMAG selling profitability calculator will show what is left after commission and costs. If you want to understand the whole cost structure, not just the commission, we gathered it in our piece on how much selling on eMAG costs.

The calculator below works out exactly this balance, but on your numbers and with this campaign’s conditions: it checks whether the offer qualifies at a given discount, builds the commission discount from both components, verifies the WOW badge conditions and finally shows how many times more units you have to sell to end up where you would outside the campaign. It starts with the prices from the example above.

Black Friday calculator

Work out whether a Black Friday discount pays you back

The calculator measures the discount from CMMP 30 - the lowest price of the last 30 days - exactly as eMAG does. It checks whether the offer qualifies, builds the commission discount from both components and shows how many units you need to sell for the promotion to break even. Amounts in RON, gross.

Price and discount

These three fields are tied together: price, discount and CMMP 30. Fill in any two and the third works itself out - and when you change CMMP 30, whatever you typed last is kept.

RON The discount base. NOT your catalogue price - every promotion in the last 30 days lowers this reference point.
RON The price the product goes into the campaign with.

The most common mistakes in campaign preparation

  • A promotion in October – it lowers CMMP 30 and raises the discount bar for Black Friday. The most expensive and the most common mistake.
  • Handling Time above 6 days – disqualifies the offer regardless of price and stock.
  • Stock declared „with a margin” – a number in the file that is not in the warehouse ends in cancelled orders, and those hit your account rating. The campaign has no minimum stock, so it is better to declare less and deliver.
  • Entering the entire catalogue – the limit is 20,000 PNK per category, but the limit is not the problem. A discount spread thinly across everything eats your margin and turns none of your offers into an event.
  • A new product added in October – it will enter the campaign if it makes the 7 days of activity, but the „Lowest price of the year” badge is already out of reach by then.
  • Skipping the Price Index – when planning for WOW it counts just as much as the discount, yet it tends to be checked last, once prices are already set.
  • No plan for the day of the campaign – one day at several times the usual volume is a strain on packing, on the courier and on answering questions. A delayed shipment after Black Friday costs more than the discount earned.

Frequently asked questions

When exactly is Black Friday 2026 on eMAG?

The date has not been confirmed yet – in recent years eMAG announced it at Seller’s Day. From our experience the most likely dates are 6 or 13 November 2026. Plan your preparations for the earlier date, because criteria counted „X days before the campaign” then fall a week earlier.

Do I have to give a 25% discount to enter the campaign?

No. The entry threshold is 5% against CMMP 30 with a minimum cash discount of 5 RON. Discounts of 10-25% relate to the commission discount and the badges, that is the bonus for a deeper cut, not to taking part in the campaign itself. The exception is the categories on the special-threshold list in the Auto, Electro-IT, Fashion and Home & Garden divisions.

What is CMMP 30 and why does it matter so much?

CMMP 30 is the lowest price of your product in the 30 days before the campaign. All discount thresholds are measured against it, not against your regular price. That is why every reduction in October raises the bar: to deliver the required discount you have to go lower still.

Will the 60% commission discount cover all my sales?

No – it applies exclusively to offers entered into the campaign and to sales made during it. The 60% itself is the sum of two components: up to 40% for the discount and the product’s performance, plus 20% for meeting the WOW badge criteria.

I do not have 100 units in stock. Can I still enter the campaign?

Yes. The Black Friday campaign has no minimum stock requirement – you declare the number of units in the file and you have to have them on the day of the campaign. The requirement of 100 units (or 20 units for products above 5,000 RON) applies only to the WOW badge.

I am adding a new product – will I make it for Black Friday?

For the campaign itself yes, 7 days of offer activity is enough. The „Lowest price of the year” badge, however, requires the product to be listed at least 60 days before the campaign, that is in the first half of September. After that date the product can take part in Black Friday, but without that badge.

Is Black Friday worth it if I cut my price by 25%?

It depends on your margin and on the volume you can handle. The commission discount usually covers between a quarter and a third of the price cut, so the difference has to be made up by the number of units sold and by the effect on visibility in the following weeks. Work it out on your own numbers before you enter the offer.

Take the next step

If you want to go into Black Friday with offers that genuinely meet the criteria – rather than with a list of products rejected at file validation – start with a review of your account and catalogue. We do this as part of an eMAG account audit: we check Handling Time, price history, performance and how ready your offers are for the campaign. Do you have a specific catalogue and a deadline? Get in touch and we will tell you what can still be done before the September deadline.
