Trendyol ADS is the marketplace’s internal advertising system, which lifts the visibility of your offers exactly where buyers in Romania are looking for products. If you already have listings on the platform but they are drowning on the later pages, paid promotion is the fastest sales lever available. Below we walk through the mechanics of a campaign – formats, budgets, product selection and measurement.

Advertising is only one piece of the puzzle. Before you commit a budget, it pays to have the basics in place – how the platform works and starting to sell on Trendyol from scratch. The mechanics of running an account and the whole strategy for a presence on the Romanian market are on our selling on Trendyol page.
Ad formats in Trendyol ADS
Trendyol ADS works as an auction: you compete for ad space with a cost-per-click bid (CPC) and you pay only when somebody clicks your offer. That is an important distinction – your budget does not melt away on impressions alone, only on real interest. The platform itself offers several campaign types, differing in placement and goal.
- Product advertising (sponsored products) – your offer appears higher in the category listing and in search results, marked as sponsored. This is the basic and most widely used format, because it reaches a buyer with a concrete intent to purchase.
- Trendyol Meta Ads – an ad format that automatically exports your product catalogue from the platform to apps such as Facebook and Instagram. It uses Trendyol data for dynamic retargeting, so social media ads reach the people who previously browsed your offers. You manage the whole budget and campaign conveniently from one seller panel.
- Premium and banner ads – intended for brand owners. These include display ads, banners in prominent places on the platform and promotion of your whole store profile, which lets you build brand recognition rather than only selling individual products. The details of such deals are usually negotiated directly with your account manager.
The exact name and availability of each format varies by category and account status. For most sellers the start looks the same anyway: a product campaign on your best offers, with the remaining formats coming later.
Budget and bids – how to start
In the CPC model you control two levers: the cost-per-click bid (how much you are willing to pay for one visit to your offer) and the daily budget (the upper spending limit per day). The bid decides whether you win the auction for a slot; the budget makes sure the campaign does not run away with your money.
The platform usually suggests a bid range for a given category – that is a reference point, not an order. Start with a bid in the lower-middle part of the range and raise it where the data shows the product is selling.
- Minimum daily budget – the system usually requires an entry threshold for a campaign, currently 4 RON.
- Minimum CPC bid – the lowest permitted cost per click differs between categories.
- Settlement model – you pay for clicks, and advertising spend is charged separately from your sales commission. How the commission itself works is broken down in our text on Trendyol commissions in 2026.
A practical rule for the start: set a budget whose loss will not hurt over the first 2-3 weeks and treat it as the cost of learning. The first days are about collecting data, not profit. Only once you see which products and search terms convert do you move money to where it works hardest.
Choosing products to promote
The most common mistake is promoting everything equally. Advertising does not fix a weak offer – it only exposes its weakness faster. So before you drop a product into a campaign, check whether it is ready to carry paid traffic.
- Competitive price – if your offer is more expensive than comparable ones, you will get clicks but no purchases. Advertising will burn budget on a product that loses on price anyway.
- Stock levels – promote only what you have available and can keep available. Advertising goods that are running out is throwing money away.
- Ratings and reviews – a product with good reviews converts better, so every unit of ad spend works harder. A new item with no reviews is worth advertising more cautiously and at a lower bid.
- A complete product page – good photos, title, attributes and description. Traffic from ads lands on a page that has to close the sale by itself. How to build it properly is shown in our guide on adding products on Trendyol.
- Margin – use the Trendyol profitability calculator to work out what really remains after commission and advertising cost. A product with a thin margin may not carry the extra CPC cost.
A good rule: start with a narrow group of your best offers – the ones already selling organically with a healthy margin. They will give the fastest return and become the foundation you expand the campaign from.
| Product signal | Advertise? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Good price, in stock, ratings 4+ | Yes, top priority | The best chance of a positive return |
| Healthy margin, little organic traffic | Yes, carefully | Advertising adds the visibility that is missing |
| Thin margin or price above market | Probably not | The budget will burn with no profit |
| Low stock / no reviews | Hold off | Risk of running out and weak conversion |
Measuring results and optimising
A campaign without measurement is a lottery. Trendyol ADS reports the basic metrics, and your job is to read them regularly and move budget in line with what the data says. Three numbers worth basing decisions on:
- ACOS (ad cost relative to ad revenue) – what percentage of the campaign’s turnover is consumed by the advertising budget itself. The lower, the more efficient. Your profitability threshold depends on margin – calculate it before judging whether an ACOS is „good”.
- ROAS (return on ad spend) – the inverse logic to ACOS: how much revenue each unit of ad spend generates. Handy for quickly comparing campaigns with each other.
- CTR and conversion – a low CTR signals a weak photo, title or price in the listing; a high CTR with low conversion usually means a problem on the product page or with your price relative to competitors.
Optimisation is a loop, not a one-off move. In practice it looks like this:
- Collect data – give the campaign a week or two before drawing conclusions. Cutting too early means acting on noise rather than signal.
- Cut what is not working – switch off products and search terms with high spend and zero sales, or lower their bids.
- Add to the winners – where ACOS is healthy, raise the bid and budget to gather more traffic.
- Test one thing at a time – change a single element at once (the bid or the product set) so you know what produced the effect.
Realistic ACOS/ROAS benchmarks depend on category, margin and campaign stage, so there is no single „good” number for everyone. Instead of chasing somebody else’s benchmark, watch your own profitability threshold, the one that follows from your margin.
Frequently asked questions
How much does advertising on Trendyol cost?
You pay on a CPC model – for clicks, not impressions. The real cost depends on the bid you set, the competition in your category and your daily budget (minimum daily budget – 4 RON). Advertising spend is charged separately from sales commission.
Does Trendyol ADS work for a new seller?
Yes, but take care of complete product pages and competitive prices first. Advertising accelerates visibility, but it will not replace a good offer – on a weak page you will only burn the budget faster.
How does product advertising differ from display?
Product advertising reaches a buyer with a ready intent to purchase and is geared towards sales. Display builds reach and brand recognition, so it works at the top of the funnel. For a start, we recommend the product format to most sellers.
How quickly do campaign results show?
The first clicks appear immediately, but draw credible conclusions about profitability only after a week or two of collecting data. Judging too early rests on noise rather than a real signal.
Is Trendyol ADS the same as advertising on the Turkish market?
The auction mechanics are similar, but we run campaigns for the Romanian market, where local competition, prices in RON and Romanian demand seasonality are what count. We develop the market context in our guide to Romanian e-commerce.
